What it is

A working farm with made-up records

Wallah is set up in AIffi the way a real farm would be: paddocks drawn on the map, stock tagged and weighed, machinery with its hours and fuel, irrigation logged against the rain, and a list of jobs done and still to do. About two years of history sits behind it.

The paddock boundaries are real. Everything recorded on them is invented — the animals, weights, fuel, jobs and people — so you can poke around freely. The farm is rebuilt every night, so it’s always up to date.

The property

72 hectares, seven paddocks and a dam

Creek flats along the brook are irrigated. The slopes and ridges behind them run dryland pasture. Each paddock has its soil and crop recorded, which is what the irrigation and feed sums work from.

What’s on it

Every animal, machine and irrigation run below is a record you can open, and AIffi can read all of it.

Livestock

  • Breeders 38 Angus cows. This season’s calves have been marked and tagged, and some cows are still to calve.
  • Bulls Two Angus bulls, who join the Breeders from November to January.
  • Trade steers 24 Angus steers bought to grow out, weighed regularly, so you can ask when they’ll reach a sale weight.
  • Dorper ewes A self-replacing flock of 40 ewes with their ram and lambs.
  • The records Every animal is tagged, with births, weighings, mob moves and paddock moves, plus pasture-height readings and a steer weighed from photos.

Machinery and fuel

  • Tractors A John Deere 5075E and a Kubota M7060, with engine hours and service history.
  • Vehicles A Toyota Hilux and a Kubota RTV side-by-side.
  • Implements A 1.8 m slasher, a 2.2 m mulcher, a 600 L boom spray and a fertiliser spreader, each with its settings.
  • Fuel A diesel tank on the farm, with deliveries and every fill logged against the machine that used it.

Irrigation

  • Water source Wallah Dam, with a Kubota diesel pump.
  • Irrigator A hard-hose traveller with a rain gun, pulled along set runs on the two creek paddocks.
  • The season Irrigation runs from October to March when the rain falls short, each run about once a fortnight. The next few days already have runs planned.
  • Rain and soil A rain gauge by the dam with a daily record, and soil moisture for each paddock.

Jobs and people

  • Sam The farmhand, who does most of the work.
  • Riley Fencing The fencing contractor.
  • Jo The agronomist.
  • The jobs Slashing, spraying blackberries, spreading fertiliser, desilting the dam, servicing the tractors. Some are done, with hours, machinery and photos; others are overdue or coming up on the calendar.
Not just questions

Make a change, and see it land

You can add to the farm too. Ask AIffi to create a job and assign it to Sam, record some rain, log a fuel fill or move a mob. It shows you the change as a card first. Nothing happens until you approve it, and then the job is on the Jobs list and the calendar.

A courtesy note. Wallah is one farm shared by everyone trying the demo, so anything you add is seen by other visitors until the farm is rebuilt overnight. Please respect that openness: keep your changes farm-related, and leave the place as you’d want to find it.
